Secrets and truths...
There's a secret I'm sitting on. It's not my secret. I can't tell it. So, I'm sitting on it.

But this brings me to what seems to have (maybe is) become a Friday ritual for me.

I was once told that I never live in the present; that I'm always planning, looking to the next move.
It hurts, but only because I know how correct it is.
And I'm so scared that I'll run forever and never find what it is I need. I run from the excessive constance of voices, this high influx of human energy, but I know that no matter how far I run, no matter what open space I uncover, it will never bring me peace or relief because the loudest and most persistent of those voices is my own.

I wish I could get some of that. I wish you and I could find a way to trade some of our neurosis, so I could get a little bit of a plan, and you could get some time to just stand still.

I wish you luck in finding what you need, and hope that you can compromise between planning for the future and living in the present.

I just wondered "what if" about a friend of mine that I've never been particularly interested in. Perhaps it is because he is married or because I feel that I'm closer and closer to it.

Some days I think I'd rather not marry and just run for the hills.

But then I get real and try to settle down. Every so often, though, I just wonder "what if".

You and me both. I lost the moral high ground on this a while ago, and now I'm just treading water and waiting for the parts of the situation I can't affect to wrap themselves up.

But each time we talk, I get this much closer to splintering.

I wish I knew what to say or how to fix it, for both our sakes.

PS - Did you ever get my answer to your version of this meme done?

Best friendship is a label, not a box. The thoughts you have (or don't have), tell me (or don't tell me), relish (or hate)...these are independent of the title.

I don't need it, but I love it.

That's probably a bit cruel of me.
